:REVIEW: Remember This by Kimber McGray & Summer Fullerton

Remember This: Fresh Page Ideas to Scrapbook the YearThe authors of Remember This, Kimber McGray and Summer Fullerton, describe the purpose of their new idea book as follows:

"One of our goals in writing this book is to show you fresh ways to approach scrapbooking everyday life events that you scrap from year to year."

We all know that it can be hard to find new ways to scrap the same events over and over, but that doesn't mean we should leave them out of our scrapbooks. McGray and Fullerton offer sound advise to keep your layouts of repeat events from feeling stale.

The book is divided into four sections - one for each season:

Chapter 1 - Spring
This section focuses on 'conveying the feeling of a fresh start'.

There are 26 layouts and 1 mini-book included.

My favorite ideas included creating layouts that capture the growth of cherry blossoms with time lapse photos and your reflections on becoming a mother for a Mother's Day layout.

Chapter 2 - Summer
This section includes 39 layouts and 1 mini-book.

One thing that I found especially helpful in this section was the numerous ideas for multi-photo vacation layouts. Who takes just one or two photos on a vacation? I would guess...NO ONE!

I also liked the idea of taking the opportunity to reflect on your child's school year early in the summer by scrapping scans of favorite artwork.

Chapter 3 - Fall
There are 22 layouts included in this section.

This is my personal favorite season to scrap! I love FALL!

There are all kinds of options to consider included in this section including fresh ways to scrap back-to-school, fall, pumpkins & apples, leaves and, of course, Halloween!

Chapter 4 - Winter
There are 30 layouts included in this section.

The holidays are full of mini-moments and traditions. What I loved about the authors advice in this section was that they showed us how to avoid being overwhelmed by 'scrapping it all' and instead focusing a few layouts each year on different aspects of your families traditions and perhaps recognizing the not-so-usual Christmas traditions.

ALSO INCLUDED IN THE BOOK:
* 11 step-by-step tutorials that show you exactly how to re-create some of the wonderful techniques featured in the sample layouts
* 16 layout sketches
* 4 checklists including key topics to scrap according to season
* A customizable calendar template that is meant to be copied to help you plan out each month's scrapbooking activities

In addition to the authors artwork, there are dozens of other amazingly talented contributing scrap artists featured in this book with a wide variety of styles.
