:LAYOUT: An Unusual Christmas

We've got some snow in the forcast, but we're praying that we don't have a repeat of last Christmas Eve and Day weather wise (see jounaling below).

Here's the layout I created about our very un-traditional celebration of the holiday last year.

I knew that I would want to include a lot of photos on this layout without leaving it feeling jam-packed, so I printed 12 wallet-sized prints to fit them all in.

They also had a lot of clashing colors, so I decided to convert them all to black and white so that I could stick with a festive Christmas color scheme.

Journaling:
We certainly can’t complain of an un-white Christmas this year! In fact, we had so much of the white stuff (plus some hefty winds as well) that we couldn’t even get to our usual family celebrations on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We actually had to wait until two days AFTER Christmas before it stopped snowing long enough to get dug out of our driveway!

We were able to get almost all of the usual group on the Pechous side together on that Sunday except for Uncle Lee who was scheduled to work that day and couldn’t find anyone to cover. We had a noon meal and opened presents in the afternoon instead of our usual evening meal and gift exchange later at night. We enjoyed the time with family, but it still all felt just a little strange!

We also wanted to see Justin’s parents that day as well, so later in the afternoon, we headed that way…after getting stuck in the driveway! Luckily, my brother Scott had is snow blower in the back of his truck and he and my nephew Nick were able to get us on our way.

Of course, we all missed Uncle Lee and a couple weeks later a group of us went up to Sioux Falls to have dinner out and celebrate a ‘Christmas’ with him as well.
