Since Justin and I are now on pretty much opposite work schedules, Kaitlin ended up with double the fun for her birthday this year.
Justin sacrificed some sleep to spend some time with her on her birthday Wednesday by taking her mini-golfing and go-kart racing while I was at work. They had a blast! Kaitlin especially as she beat him in both! Justin claims it was because she had a weight advantage in the racing. He has no excuse for the golfing...she's just better! :-)
Then, when he had to go to work, he dropped her off at Boys & Girls Club for a couple hours and she shared some chocolate chip cookies with her friends.
In the evening, Kaitlin and I went out to eat at Mongolian Grill (her choice...you know your kid is growing up when she voluntarily chooses a restaurant other than McDonald's!) and to Shrek Forever After.
All in all, she seemed pretty pleased with her special day.
Now, we're getting ready for our annual Backyard BBQ Birthday Bash tomorrow night. Well, hopefully...it's looking like it might get rained out and we might have to stay inside, but we're keeping our fingers crossed that the rain misses us!
Here's a layout from Kaitlin's birthday last year.
The bright colors and border strip of candles highlight the birthday theme.
Three wallet size photos are the perfect accent for the main photo and the ticket stubs are a great way to add memorabilia to a page.
