One thing that I look forward to for months is the extra time that I get off at Christmastime. It's usually somewhere around 10 days or so including the weekends and I always plan ahead so that 5-6 days of it can be dedicated pretty much entirely to scrapbooking since I don't get to do it nearly as often as I would like during the rest of the year.
This year was no different.
In six days, I completed 22 layouts!
While I didn't quite beat my record from the year before (which inspired the following layout), it was still a glorius 6 days and loved the creative recharge!
The general design of this layout was inspired from an ad...I think it was for California Closets if I remember correctly.
For the photo, I created a collage of 25 layouts that I created during my 2009 Christmas break and added the title digitally before printing.
Journaling:
While my job can be stressful at times, one thing that I am very grateful for is the amount of vacation time that I have. We usually have a week and a half to two weeks off at Christmas time – depending on where Christmas falls in the week. Of course the first part of the vacation is generally full of last minute preparations and family gatherings, but the second half is generally a little ‘freer’ and for the past few years, I’ve used this time for a at-home scrap marathon. This year, I completed about 25 layouts in about 6 days…and it is a glorious way to immerse myself in creativity! It’s become a tradition and is something I look forward to all year long.
