:WANTED: A penny for your thoughts...

There have now been 6 editions of my Daily Inspirations available for download here on the AMOM blog and I have had so much fun creating them and seeing the creativity of all those that have taken advantage of them.
However, as each month has gone by, I am feeling the need for change.

Obviously, I want these prompts to be as useful as possible to those of you who are using them and I have found some limitations with the current format and delivery of my Daily Inspirations downloads. There have been some prompts I have not been able to share with you because they simply don't fit neatly into a tiny little square (as cute as they may be).

I have been taking notes, playing with different ideas and working on a few different 'prototypes' so to speak. I am hoping to unveil the new and improved version (most likely under a new and improved name as well!) within the next few months, but before I do so, I wanted get some feedback from all of you - the users of these Daily Inspirations downloads.

Here are my main questions:

  1. What do you like about the current format (pdf including grid of prompt squares)?
  2. What do you dislike about the current format?
  3. Which prompts have you found the most useful/inspiring?
  4. Which prompts have you found the least useful/inspiring?
  5. Are there any types of prompts that you feel are missing from the current format?
  6. If you have not already entered a layout for the monthly drawing, what is holding you back?

You can answer one, a few, or all six, but the more feedback you can provide the better. Every insight and suggestion will be taken into consideration.

It's not quite feasible for me to really give each of you a penny for your thoughts, but your opinions are sincerely wanted. So, if you will take a few moments to let me know what you think in the comments, I will enter you in a random drawing for the complete Wanted Crafting Kit by Cosmo Cricket!!

Please leave a comment with your thoughts on the above questions and be sure to include your name (first name only is fine) and email in order to be eligible for the drawing.

I would like everyone to have sufficient time and opportunity to contribute, so I'm going to leave this drawing open through next Monday, July 20th, 11:59 p.m. However, even if you miss the drawing deadline, please feel free to comment even after this date if you wish as your opinions will still be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance and I can't wait to here what you have to say!!

It's easy to follow and has several challenge options.
    2. What do you dislike about the current format?
    Nothing...I like it all.
    3. Which prompts have you found the most useful/inspiring?
    Technique prompts.
    4. Which prompts have you found the least useful/inspiring?
Photo prompts..I have so many pics to scrap that I'll probably not use the photo prompts.

I had my scrapping put away for a while and I'm now getting back to it. I think you'll see some submissions from me soon.

  4. 1. What do you like about the current format (pdf including grid of prompt squares)?

I like it because it's easily readable and neatly organized. Also love the small squares that i an cut out and put into a jar and draw randomly if i'm feeling like being random. :)

    2. What do you dislike about the current format?

I love it...it works for me!

    3. Which prompts have you found the most useful/inspiring?

I'm a fan of the photo, title and quote prompts. I'm an amateur photographer followed by being a word nerd so those speak to me.

    4. Which prompts have you found the least useful/inspiring?

I like the little factoid prompts and while interesting, I'm not sure I would use them as much but I might one day! I love little trivia tidbits like that.

    5. Are there any types of prompts that you feel are missing from the current format?

Maybe an embellishment/technique prompt? "use chipboard and stitching on a layout" that nature of things. I like a challenge that gives me just the basics of what to do so i can create my own spin.

    6. If you have not already entered a layout for the monthly drawing, what is holding you back?

I just found out about your site via facebook so i haven't had enough time!

  5. What do you like about the current format (pdf including grid of prompt squares)?

*** I only have just found your site recently, so July is the first one that I've seen. I like the squares and how I can leave up on my corkboard to get inspiration from.

What do you dislike about the current format?

*** Sometimes the colors blend for me, but that might be just cause I'm getting old(er) hehehe

Which prompts have you found the most useful/inspiring?

**I always need a mixture of ideas. If it was only words, or colors, etc then I wouldn't use them as much. I like having color and words right now. (The zip code one brought many ideas to mind!)

Which prompts have you found the least useful/inspiring?

*** Not that it's 'un'inspiring, but trivia and quotes weren't on my top ten list. But I have been reading them as a way to open up what I might take pictures of in my life to document. It might not happen this month, but might spark something at a later date. So it might not be inspiring for something 'today'

Are there any types of prompts that you feel are missing from the current format?

***There could always be room for a techniques, sketch, embellishment prompt. Maybe a site to visit to scraplift an idea.

If you have not already entered a layout for the monthly drawing, what is holding you back?

*** Newbie just getting started with using them!

  6. 1. What do you like about the current format (pdf including grid of prompt squares)?

I love the format you are currently using. I also like the fact that the grid can be cut and put in a jar to draw from. I've only been downloading the daily inspirations sheet since May--so I'm still fairly new at it, I guess.

    2. What do you dislike about the current format?
    Nothing--it works for me.

    3. Which prompts have you found the most useful/inspiring?

The prompts I love are the techniques. Oh, and the color combos. I also love the variety--a little bit of everything and anything for everyone!

    4. Which prompts have you found the least useful/inspiring?

I'm not a fan of quotes. I do like the trivia with an idea of how to use that trivia-clever! I don't like the "Write your own". I feel that space could be used for other things--read answer to Question 5. Usually, if I don't particularly like a prompt, I just skip it.

    5. Are there any types of prompts that you feel are missing from the current format?

I would like to see more prompts using a particular type of embellishment, links to sketches . How about choosing a blog each month, or a website to visit-(not necessarily a designer's--just the average scrapper-KWIM?) for more inspiration. I LOVE visiting blogs!

    6. If you have not already entered a layout for the monthly drawing, what is holding you back?

I've not entered a layout using any of these prompts due to my own procrastination! I have to work on that--LOL!

I hope to start uploading my layouts soon.

  7. I've downloaded 2 of them so far and then never really did anything with them because I forgot about them... I don't like to print them out because it uses up too much ink so I download them, read them and delight over the different fun prompts then forget to look for it again when I'm able to get some scrappy time in. I would love to be able to see it on the blog when I check the blog daily through my reader. I love love LOVE checking the blog everyday to see your wonderful creations from the prompts and look forward to seeing what changes you come up with :)

  8. Here is my penny's worth. Lol.

I had to some thinking to answer you questions, because I didn't want to send simple, petty answers.

What do you like about the current format (pdf including grid of prompt squares)?
I like having it an easy downloadable format. I like the easy printing of the pdf.

What do you dislike about the current format?
It is small but it does complete the job. I don't care for the color prompts... its too many colors in one day. But that just may be me personally. Maybe only 3 colors instead of 5. Some of the ideas because they take up more room in the square are hard to read. Maybe turning it to use the landscape format for more room.

Which prompts have you found the most useful/inspiring?
The photo prompts, some color prompts, technique prompts. I love the quote and photo prompts.

Which prompts have you found the least useful/inspiring?
They are all inspiring but don't fit my mood or what I want to work on at the time.

Are there any types of prompts that you feel are missing from the current format?
I would like to see more technique or use your supplies or embellishment techniques. Maybe you can add some of the daily celebrations. There is a holiday for every single day of the year.

If you have not already entered a layout for the monthly drawing, what is holding you back?
I don't feel my work is "good enough."

I would love to work with you on this, if interested.

  11. 1st can U post comment section before all the comments. I'm not a non-geek & don't like to spend time scrolling down to numerous comments. S/times I leave the site if there is too many.
    2. I'm a S/BK & C/Maker so I 'm surfing for ideas,I like it when I can get 1 contionous page instead of always having to scroll down to find older pages it makes it quicker to go thru people's old blog enteries to look @ their ideas.
I liked UR firework pic's. Images that are c/ful I enjoy. Color grabs my attention.
    3. I like concise directions w/ pic's for tech.'s. I'm very visual.
4I like seeing new products & media. I'm only buying what people are saying that's working for them. It's goes on a w/list. Too many neg's I avoid it & save my money. I'm on a very limited budget so this narrows down what works & doesn't.
    5. I don't have a camera so I can't submit my work. I mainly surf for ideas.
I like to be entered in UR drawing for the paper, I like the warm colors. Yes I luv color!!

Hey, thanks for the blog. As a former S.Dakotan, it's fun to catch up on Czech Days and all the other activities from back home!
