:REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: How to be the Best Bubblewriter in the World Ever by Linda Scott

How to be the Best Bubblewriter in the World EverWhen I was contacted by Debra at Laurence King Publishing to review How to be the Best Bubblewriter in the World Ever by Linda Scott, I must admit that I almost turned her down.

I always strive to make sure that the products I feature on the AMOM blog fit my topic, are something I feel that I can honestly review, and will be of interest to all of you.

Well, in this case, it was the second one that I was second-guessing. While I know that there are a lot of scrapbookers out there that really love exploring their creative side with hand lettering on their pages, I have to admit that I've never really dipped into this technique. And, honestly, I don't really see myself going that direction since my scrapbooking time is at a premium as it is.

Then, I reconsidered. I thought, "Kaitlin would ADORE this book!" She already loves using various forms of bubble writing on her home and school craft projects.

So, I replied asking if a few statements from her perspective would be acceptable. Debra replied that a kid's review would be great. After doing a little research, I soon discovered that the book is actually marketed primarily to kids, in fact.

When the book arrived, Kaitlin was simply excited that the package was for her! (Everyone loves to get a package, right!?)

We opened it up and her eyes immediately lit up! She was all, "And I can even write in it!?"

She hardly put it down for the first few days!! It was also an amazing car-ride occupier during the vacation we  took to the Black Hills shortly after receiving the book which included lots of car time.

Kaitlin said:

"I love that there are so many different styles to practice."
"Usually it is bad to write in a book. It's cool that I can practice the letters right in it."
"My favorite bubble alphabet is 'Rock On!'. It's so cool!"

In all, there are about 70 different bubble type faces featured in this book. Here's a couple examples:

As you can see, the author writes out the entire alphabet to illustrate and there is plenty of room to practice.

If you have a creative kid who love to explore their artistic side, How to be the Best Bubblewriter in the World Ever is a winner!

If you are a scrapbooker who likes to use hand letting on your layouts and/or try knew techniques to give your layouts a uniquely-you feel, this book is for you, too!

How to be the Best Bubblewriter in the World Ever is currently available at Amazon for only $10.17!

I have used hand drawn lettering, but not in a long, long time. This book could get me to try it again on a page or two. My boys would love it too, because they are very artistic. Thanks for a chance to win.
I love to do hand drawn lettering and have tons of it in my sons scrapbooks. I like to do my own titles and then decorate them. I have a little neighbor girl that loves sitting with me and creating her own pages and cards. I'd love to be able to share this with little Wednesday!
I can't remember doing this on a page but I used to do it all the time when I was at school! Maybe I should give it another try but I know that my "artist" in residence would love it!!!! Thanks for the chance (and the review)!
When I was younger I loved bubble letters and doodling on my pages, but as an adult I rarely get very artsy with journaling, so I would love a copy of this book to get back to the basics of just having fun with journaling! Thanks so much for the chance!
I like to do hand lettering on the cards I make, it adds such a persona; touch.
Awesome ! I love to create smething using my "own" letters. That will inspire me greatly ! Thanks for the chance to win !!!
My own handwriting is terrible, but I often use hand lettering. We actually have several books showing different styles of lettering and this would be a great one to add to the collection. 70 different styles would make things so much more fun. Thanks.
no, I haven't tried it, but it looks very unique. I'd love a copy of the book!
Book looks great! Would come in useful for my design course too :)

I do use hand lettering on my layouts sometimes. It is often the perfect solution when I don't have quite the right font in stickers.

I've never used hand lettering on a layout but I'd like to try it sometime. I guess I don't have much confidence in my skill in this area. Thanks for the chance to win.
Used to do this in school, posters, notebooks, etc. Never tried in for scrapbooking, but might with this as encouragement. Thanks for the chance!

What a great idea! My handwriting is just god-awful, but this book looks like it might be able to shape things up for people like me! Thanks for the chance to win!
People tell me my handwriting / printing is very neat, which is a good thing because I'm a secretary and take phone messages for other people at work! I love doing bubble letters whenever I can ... birthday cards, invitations, etc. I could really use some new, fresh ideas! Thanks for the nice giveaway!
I hardly use hand-drawn lettering; use mainly die-cut letters. Really need a book to learn something about hand lettering!
I have used hand-letters and although people say I have good handwriting, sometimes I don't like the way it looks. I also tend to write uphill.
I love hand lettering because my handwriting is garbage... go figure. This book looks AWESOME!
I just use a simple rounded balloon-y looking font. It isn't really original, but I think that each person puts their own individual touch to it just by the nature of how they naturally write. I love it. I've seen this book in stores and it sure looks fun!
I have never done letter drawing before. My handwriting is not bad but it would be a technique i would like to learn.
I have done some handletttered titles on my scrapbook layouts ... but I really enjoy this type of writing in cards or in my sketchbook. I think it would be a fun! Thanks for the chance to win a copy!
My art students really enjoy using bubble letters and these new ideas will certainly get their creativity going. Students who have difficulty drawing will benefit from these examples and after trying them, they will find they really can draw after all. It is another approach to a drawing lesson. Great Book!
This looks like so much fun! I have used hand lettering some, and have enjoyed the outcome for sure. I'd like to get more into it.
