When my son was in Cub Scouts, every year we would go to Knoebel's Park. It is a campground and a big amusement park tucked away in Western PA. We not only got to experience camp life in a tent, but got to go to an amusement park too. Lot's of fun. Need to get there again. Maybe this summer.
Our camping adventures were always so much fun. There is just something about spending those twilight/dusk hours together as a family outside. And for some reason food cooked on an open fire always tastes to much better!
when I was about 10 and I was away at camp, we actually tent camped one night. when we woke up we discovered a raccoon had gotten into our smore's making items. he had peeled back the wrapper on a chocolate bar and started eaten it. it had his little hand prints and everything.

I have so many fun camping memories, from a tent to a used pop-up to a new pop-up to a 40 ft fifth wheel. It's hard to just pick one. The most memorable was in a tent with my sister, me, and my two kids (7 & 5), late in the evening, in Wisconsin at the end of a trip to Montana. We had finally reached our final campsite and it was late and we set up in a hurry and didn't bother with things like the rain fly. Of course, you've guessed, it stormed like mad that night and I remember telling the kids it was all okay and they kept complaining, until finally the youngest started slapping the floor of the tent and saying, but Mama, it's WET!!! Then we finally realized, the tent was flooded where he was lying. Even though it was the middle of the night, we grabbed the kids up, stripped them of their wet clothes, threw them in the backseat of the car covered with a dry sleeping bag, stuffed everything else into our car top carrier and started home. Things, of course went from bad to worse. We're driving through an empty Iowa in the middle of the night, it's storming, the water splashing up under the car apparently shorted out our fuel gauge, we couldn't find a gas station and when we finally found one the gas was about $4.00 a gal (and this was 25 years ago, LOL). Guess we'll never forget that trip.

We made up for it on our last trip last year. My husband and I hosted a camping trip to the Smokey Mountains with our two kids, my sister and mother. So 12 people from 4 to 81 years of age. It's the first time we've all gone camping together and it was wonderful. Not as eventful as that night in Iowa, but still wonderful Memories for this Nana.
Oops, in that above, the Smokey Mountain trip had Us, our two kids, THEIR 5 kids, my sister and my mother. Smiles
When my sister a friend and me camped an entire week inside my grandparents house, sleeping in the tent and so (we were very little girls hahaha). It's not a real camping but I think it's my favorite and it brought a smile to my face when I remembered it :)
My family would spend most weekends camping when I was growing up. I still love to do it! My favorite memories are probably the week long trip we would do with my mom and some friends. Our dads would drive us up, set up the site and stay for the weekend, then during the week we would have "Ladies Week" with 2 moms and each of their daughters. It was always fun and something we looked forward to every year.
I grew up camping in the Rockie Mountains. We had a camper but not one with a bathroom. So we would use a large coffee can for middle of the night emergencies. One morning my mother asked me to toss it out and I opened the door and tossed it. Unfortunately, one of the dads in our group was walking by. Twenty years later on my wedding day, same dad presented me with a wet $20 to remind me of "our special' memory! Spent just the same!
Thank you! My favorite camping memory is watching my son and his friends swamp each other at the lake with the canoes. Terrific photos too!
When my kids were young we decided to spend July 4th weekend at the lake. Unfortunately, the lake we chose was heated by a local power plant so the air temp was about 100 and the water temp was close to 90. Not very refreshing, but the fish were huge! Now grown and out of the house, the kids still talk about the HOT lake.

My favorite camping trip was when my son was young. I took him on his first camping trip, Memorial Weekend, it was cold! We took his friend along, andwe had a great time.
My favorite camping memory is of a year where our camping trip was planned at a campground near where my husband had to finish up a job so he could still work during the day and join us at night. During our camping trip we had to attend a black tie affair for the job he was working on and so we had to get dressed for it at the campground and were picked up by a limo... all of that was odd enough but just to make it even more of a scene to watch (for the other campers) it was pouring out that day... so bad that our tent was caving in with the weight of the rain gathering on top... so there were were in our gown and tux trying to fix the tent before we left because we didn't want to come back to a caved in mess. I wish I had pictures to go with that memory!!! :)

As a long time Girl Scout leader I've been on many a fun camping trip!!!
My parents worked 7 days a week so we didn't get away often. One summer though my parents took their truck loaded with 2 double mattresses in the back and I was allowed to take a friend. We stayed the night and it is one of my fondest memories!
Wonderful collection, so perfect for summer memories & camp themed projects! Would love to create a mini album of all my favorite camp memories with this as I have so many. Most of the best ones involve water & playing with my friends, even when we weren't supposed to be getting wet!
My favorite would have to be watching the northern lights. Laying on the lakeshore, just watching the dancing light.
We often took our kids camping when they were little. But one time we joined my inlaws on their trip through Alaska. We camped throughout the fun trip. My kids earned the Junior Ranger badge at the parks and one night it seemed terribly dark outside which was very unusual since it didn't get very dark while we were there. A volcano had erupted and covered everything in ash so the windows were covered in ash to make it look dark outside. Very interesting experience.

Not sure if its a special camping moment, but its a camping trip I remember! The campground we reserved was right by a freeway so at night that all you heard was traffic and trucks going by. It was also raining the whole time! Needless to say we still had a good time but I got hardly any sleep!

My favorite memories are of camping with my husband and two children in our camper. We really enjoyed the campfires and playing games inside in the evenings.
My favorite camping memory is Girl Scout camp where I had my first S'more!!!
Might not be a favorite...But it is unforgettable. It would be the week I spent at girl scout camp. It rained the entire week. We had to move our tent as water was running under it.
When I was young, we lived in San Diego. At age 9, we moved to southwestern Colorado, in Pagosa Springs. One of the first camping trips this "city girl" took was to Williams Creek Reservoir. I remember being sort of uncomfortable and missing California a lot -- until I caught my first fish!!! It was a rainbow trout, and I still have the picture of me holding it in a net after reeling it in. What a great memory!
my favorite memory of camping was falling into a dumpster searching for my cloths which had tossed out by our camp leader. that taught me a lesson never to place my wet cloths in a garbage bag.
We had our this year! we had a wonderful time camping as a family in the sequoia's, our campground was right by a river and we got to see so much wildlife! including a bear! the girls had so much fun I can not wait to scrap it!
