:QUOTES: on TEACHERS according to Einstein, Garrison & Ward

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week coming up next week (May 2-6, 2011), I've got three wonderful quotes on teachers for you to vote on this week.

ALBERT EINSTEIN (1875-1955; theoretical physicist, philosopher):
"It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.”

EVER GARRISON:
“A teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge, and wisdom in the pupils.”

WILLIAM ARTHER WARD:
“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.”

READER RESPONSE:
Vote for your favorite quote and I'll create a word art freebie with the 'winning' quote to share with you sometime next week. In the meantime, check out my other word art downloads.

WILLIAM ARTHER WARD:
“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.”
I like that one too but I think I like the Ever Garrison quote more.
They are all good, but I really like the William Arther Ward quote.
Wow all good choices but my favorite by far is Will Ward.
The quote by Ward is "spot on". I'm casting my vote for that one.
I will always love Al but in this case, William gets right to the point. Sure wish the teachers in our high school had this quote.
Voting for Einstein...

Speaking as a teacher, the Einstein quote appeals to me the most.
We are able to get good lesson from these types of quotes but only if we are having the sense to understand them. I always like to read these types of quotes all the time on this website.
