:REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: Ella's Essential Guide to Scrapbooking Girls [CONTEST CLOSED]

As the mother of one child - a girl - the newest Ella eBook was right up my alley.

It's called Ella's Essential Guide to Scrapbooking Girls and it's contributors include five amazing scrap artists who happen to be the mother of girls - and only girls - also! They include Elizabeth Dillow, Danielle Flanders, May Flaum, Nicole Southworth, and Jody Wenke.

In the intro, Editor Angie Lucas writes, "You don't raise girls and boys in exactly the same way and you don't scrapbook about them in exactly the same way either."

How true! The subtitle of this book - 91 sweet ideas for girls of all ages - tells you exactly what you'll find in this wonderfully feminine eBook.

In the eBook, there are 20 girly topics accompanied by a beautiful sample layout from one of the talented contributors. They cover everything from unique ways to record special relationships, favorites, milestones and so much more. The additional ideas come into play in the form of suggested variations on each theme. There are three to four variations for each idea.

Each contributor also shares their personal three-part formula for 'instant femininity' and offers a challenge to try it on your next girl layout.

I also loved that at the end of the eBook, the contributors share their opinion for how often each of the ideas in the book should be revisited in your scrapbook albums. Many of the ideas could be recycled every year and still seem fresh.

There are three quizzes that are featured in the sample layouts that are provided for download. All you have to do is add in answers to suit the girl in your life and add them directly to your next layout for a fast and memorable page.

GIVEAWAY:
Here comes the best part! I have one free download to give away to one lucky reader. All you need to do is answer the following question by 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2010.

What is your favorite way - either product or technique - to add a little feminine flair to your layouts?

Random.org will choose and I'll announce the winner on Friday!

GOOD LUCK!

Flowers and girly ribbon usually do the trick for me. Of course my little girl isn't always so girly. ;)

I add flowers to a lot of my girly layouts. I also will choose patterned paper that appears more feminine so that the very base of the layout starts out with the feminine feeling.
I love flowers! I use paper flowers, crocheted flowers, die cut flowers, flower stamps, you name it!

I like adding lace, flowers and/or ribbon
I will usually use flowers and colors to make a layout girly. Must say I love the idea of this book. Having one girl and one boy , you kind of run out of idea to scrap, but this opens a whole new avenue . Thanks Ella !
Flowers are my primary go-to for a feminine touch.
I tend to stick to flowers, however, I have started pleating patterned paper and that has made a difference. Thanks for the chance to win!
I digiscrap and I love using brushes, especially flourishes - they make a little subtle femininity! Thanks for the chance!
Usually flowers are my go to girly element. Wether I make my own or use ones such as Prima or other fun manufacturers!!! Yay for girls!

I love to add sewing to my layouts! Handmade fabric yo-yos look great on pages and you can add a stem or leaf to make a flower! Glitter also adds a feminine touch!
I love scalloped borders!
Bling & flowers are usually my go-to when I want a LO to be more feminine.
Butterfly & flower punchesare always used for my girly projects. The shapes look even more feminine when topped with pearls or gems :)
Flowers and bling are my go-to solutions for making a page more "girly"! That, and a dash of pink never hurt a girly page either. ;)
Thanks for the chance to win!
Flowers, especially pink, make me think girl.
