:REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: A Year in the Life from Ella Publishing

It's no secret that I'm an Ella fan. Ever since they have started publishing last year, I've been amazed by the variety and quality of eBooks they have produced.

Early this year, they released A Year in the Life which is a collaborative effort from the very talented group of ladies over at Write.Click.Scrapbook.

This is the perfect companion for any scrapper - novice to experienced - as you start a fresh year of celebrating your life through the pages of a scrapbook.

This 30-page treasure includes 24 sample layouts - 19 of which are multi-photo, two-page designs in a mixture of 12x12 and 8 1/2 x 11 formats. There are both traditional and digital layouts represented as well.

There is one layout sample for each month. As you might guess, the general themes are traditional for the time of year. However, I was pleasantly surprised that they all had a quite unique and creative twist to them. I shouldn't have expected the 'same-old, same-old' from Ella, right?!

After each monthly layout sample is an 'anytime' themed layout to help you record the important things that make up your life in the here and now.

Inside this eBook are great ideas for themes, design, journaling, photos, techniques, title treatments and more.

One thing that really stood out to me as I enjoyed this eBook is the numerous ideas for compilation layouts. In the mix of our busy lives, it is so great to have new and inspired ideas for scrapping photos from an extended period of time (rather than 'moment' scrapbooking) or showcasing multiple people on one layout in a creative and cohesive way.

These typles of ideas are exactly what is need to make our piles of photos seem significantly less daunting and takes the pressure out of scrapping every individual event.

At the end of the eBook, there is also an wonderful collection of 10 photo ideas for each month of the year to help us make sure we are recording what's important throughout the year.

My favorite month is November. I love the fall - not too hot/humid (I live in the South!), not too cold. Things aren't so busy w/ the holidays yet, but there's a sense of anticipation about the upcoming holidays that is more exciting than actually going through all that mad rush!

My favorite month of the year is December! I love Christmas and the holiday spirit that it brings! It seems to me that people are nicer and more generous during the holidays. I wish everyone could feel the love of Christmas all year long!

I love the month of June! I drive a school bus so of course I am out of school, hopefully on a vacation. Fresh vegetables are starting to come in and I love these. It's a lazy month for me and I have time to visit with family.

I love October! It's my anniversary and we usually take a trip to celebrate! - Plus its the unofficial start to the holiday season and the weather is turning nice and cool.

My fav month is September because it is our anniversary and we always celebrate! Usually with a vacation of some sorts. Plus, it's warm out but not too hot and you can actually enjoy being outside.

I would have to say that my favorite month is probably June because I love warm weather, we celebrate Czech Days in Tabor, SD, I am able to work with my garden and go for walks outside!

June is my favorite month! June because I met the man of my dreams in June, my birthday is on the 25, his is on the 23, and we got married on the 1st! So June is my FAVORITE month!

My favorite month of the year is December because I just love the holiday spirit and excitement that is in the air during that month. I look forward to making gifts and my holiday cards and to my marathon weekend of making cookies for my family and friends.

My favorite month is March, because of St Patrick's Day! Plus, it also starts to get a little warmer here and I can finally feel like winter is coming to an end.

I, too, am an Ella fan. Their ebooks are great! OK....my favorite month of the year is June. The kids are just out of school and we can spend more time together. We usually spend some time visiting relatives in June and it's not too hot to be outside. Strawberries, my favorite fruit, are in season and it's all so wonderful and relaxing that June has to be the best month of the year!

My favorite month is May. Spring is here and I spend a lot of my time in the flower garden, which I love. The weather is warm, but not yet hot, and for me there is always such a feeling of hope in the air.

My favorite month is November, because my mother host our annual Thanksgiving dinner for our entire family. She's been doing this over 20 years and I'll be ready to take it over soon. We fellowship, give away door prizes, eat, talk about the good ole days. The next day we put up our Christmas trees and decorate the house. Thanksgiving starts our holiday season!

Depends what time of year it is!! In August when its 100 degress, i want it to be fall with the pretty trees and bearable temps...but then winter comes and this year with the constant snow storms it makes me REALLY want some SUNSHINE and warm weather! But I'd say summer in the end :)
