Each year for Christmas, Mark and I go and buy a dated ornament to symbolize how many years we have spent Christmas together. We make it quite the fanfare - or at least I do! We get lunch, we shoppe and then we make our decision and purchase our yearly ornament. We won't put up the tree until we find our dated ornament!

Christmas is my fav, thanks for givaway :)
We have adopted so many holiday traditions, that it's really hard to pick just one! However, one very special tradition that instantly comes to mind, is our Annual Ornament Hunt. Every year since our children were born, we've participated in our Family Ornament Hunt. We set aside a whole day, to go out shopping as a family, search out & pick just 1 special ornament that reminds us of a memorable moment for the year. Besides being a special tradition, the idea is to also have each child have a complete set of special ornaments that they will take along with them when they leave home someday.

My favorite tradition is dh and I sitting under the lighted tree, after we put the kids gifts out, with a glass of eggnog and Christmas music silently playing, and we open our stockings for one another. I look all year for dh's stocking stuffers... it's so much fun - and very special and romantic for just the two of us. Thank you so much for the opportunity to win this book!

My favorite tradition has to be my mom waking my siblings and I up on Christmas morning. She is always so excited that she can barely wait until the sun is up and none of her kids are what you would call "morning" people, so we come down the stairs, looking like ragamuffins in out mismatched sweats, we huddle on the couch together, and tease her about it being too early. We eventually will divide the gifts and then open them, but it is those moments of us as a family waking up on a special holiday and the camaraderie we share. This tradition continues now, even when we have added spouses to the mix. The spouses play along too.

since all my kids are out of school for so long over the Christmas break we start every break by doing a craft together and sending them out as gifts.
Well! Our fav is Christmas and I guess as in many families... on Christmas morning... when my hubbie and I are waiting in bed for the children to wake us up because Santa came with the presents and they can hardly wait to open theirs... So many stars in their eyes... I love that so much
Halloween used to be my favorite but over the past few years Christmas has become my favorite. I love spending time with my family and finding that perfect gift for my husband. The fact that he proposed on Christmas Eve could have something to do withi it as well. :)
I actually love Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas equally BUT I have been stuck in a RUT for several years, I feel like my Halloween and Christmas layouts are exactly the same. My daughter is 11 years old now and I think I have been taking the same pics and doing the same layouts for that last 10 years! I don't know why my creativity gets so blocked for these pages, I need an intervention--I have the last three years of Christmas photos, in her baby books, but not scrapped b/c I don't know what the heck to do with them!!

My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. I do the cooking and my entire family (siblings & their families and our parents) come to our house for lots of food, fun and laughter! A LOT of laughter! Since everyone have such busy schedules, this is a perfect time for us to come together and catch up on each others' lives.

My favorite holiday is Halloween! I'm always looking for creative new ideas to inspire all my holiday projects!
My favorite tradition is one my husband and I started in our house - neither his family nor mine did it when we were kids - we just thought it was cool.

Every Christmas we buy each other an ornament, some of ours we bought because we thought they meant something to each other, some we just thought looked cool and figured the other would appreciate it too.

For example, we have two cats, one year my husband got me a Cat in a Santa outfit, while another year I got him a Penguin on a motorcycle (he loves motorcycles and we both love penguins!)!

Here soon, we'll have to get a tree JUST FOR our special ornaments!
My holiday tradition is for Halloween. We spend it in Florida at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal. The costumes and scenery make for terrific scrapbook pages
Don't really have a long standing holiday tradition right now but every year until my grandma died (2 days after xmas in 2001), we would spend an entire Saturday in December making dozens of xmas cookies.
I'm a relatively new mom (my oldest is 2 yrs old) and I'm in the process of starting new traditions. So far, I decorate cookies with my step-mom and the kids (the older ones in the family) find the pickle on the tree Christmas Day. I'd like to start a tradition with the Advent calendar, so this magazine would be AWESOME~
My favorite for the tradition for the past few years is a Christmas one: reading "The Night Before Christmas" as a bedtime story on Christmas Eve for my kids. I hope they never get too old for that story!

I love each of the Holidays, but Christmas has to be my favorite. We have many traditions, but among my favorites are the lighting of the candles for each special person we have lost in our family over the years and the 'special' ornament for the rememberance tree...
My favorite Christmas tradition is going to Mass together with extended family on Christmas Eve.

The past few years, my teenage daughter and I get up early on Black Friday and head to Starbucks for a Vanilla Latte. We bring the BF ads and spend an hour perusing the sales, making a list and comparing which have the best deals. We are a single parent family and need to spend our money wisely. This has proven to be a bonding time and it also eliminates any impulse shopping besides getting the best deals.

Can't believe December is almost here. My favorite tradition is one I started back when my kids were little. I either make or buy an ornaments that reflects something special that happened to them during the year. Some years it is really hard to find that special ornament but one way or another it works out. After my kids got married they got to take all their ornaments with them. I keep the tradition going and have added my grandkids to it as well. I once dated a man for 7 years and got his little daughter started doing this for her dad and even though she is in college she still gets her dad an ornament every year.
There are a lot of traditions in our young family, but I have two favorites. The first one I have done since I was a little girl and that is the 8th floor display at the Macy's in downtown Minneapolis. It is an electronically animated display of a story (last year was Mary Poppins) and then we head to the Holidazzle parade with lighted floats through downtown.

My other favorite tradition is I buy every member of my family an ornament that symbolizes a favorite memory from the previous year. My husband gets a unique ornament with the number of people in our family in it. Everyone always wonders what they'll be getting that year. :)

We have alot of little quirky holiday traditions (for alot of holidays), but my favorite is probably the Christmas Eve get togther after Moravian church at my sister's house. We used to have it every year at my grandmother's house (she lived 2 blocks from the church). She passed away several years ago, but we still continue the tradition. Every year she folded up money into little flowers or other objects and gave them as gifts. We try to continue this every year (usually with dollar bills!...bad economy!). it's also just a great time for our entire family to reconnect. the best part about Moravian church is they have a "feast" which includes Moravian sugar cake and you get to eat in church!
This looks like a great addition to my idea book collection. One of my fav traditions right now is hubby and I take a picture of ourselves each Christmas Eve. I plan to continue this after we have children too. It is a nice way to capture ourselves and the holiday.
