Well, I think I've passed a benchmark with my modest little blog.
I just passed 50,000 hits!! It still amazes me more than just a little how many people have visited my blog since I started it. It's not just my mom either (Hi, Mom...love you!)...I've had visitors from every continent except Antarctica. That's just cool!
And some of these people come back and visit from time to time, leave comments and make it feel like a 'community' here! Love it!
To celebrate, I have something WONDERFUL to giveaway...and I have five of them...one for each 10,000 visitors to my blog! It's not scrapbooking product, but it is scrapbooking related and has something to do with the feeling of community that I mentioned above.
I have been a member of WeScrap for about a year now and it is an amazing community of
scrapbookers. Also known as the International Scrapbooking Association (ISA), it is a place to share our craft and our lives as well as find fresh inspiration that can't be found anywhere else.

Scrapbooking has allowed my kids (2 adopted, 2 biological) to see the connection and blessings in our family.
ReplyDeleteIt brought a closeness to me and my 2 girls and allowed my creative side to flow. It has also showed people how much I really care when I do a book for them or a page,I love the feeling of making someone feel good!
ReplyDeleteI have linked this to my blog also : )

Like many other moms scrapbooking has brought me closer to my 6 yr old daughter and has been a wonderful activity for us to do. It has also helped me to step back and allow my daughter to teach me. She does an amazing job, it's not always perfect (cut lines, pictures glued on with precision all the things I stress over) but she is alway extremely happy with all of her pages and it's great to let her shine and be the teacher.
ReplyDeleteI started scrapbooking with my 12yr old dd at the time, 3 years ago...I was looking for a craft that my almost teen daughter and i could do together..I felt it would keep the communication line open between us.She has gone to crop camp the last 2 summers and i continue to try to find time to scrap 23yrs of pic's...We love shopping for scrap supplies together and she is always borrowing the supplies..we just can't seem to keep much adhesive in the house...thanks linda
ReplyDeletemy girls and my husband will have a lasting memory of not only their lives but my take on it...
ReplyDeletescrapbooking has made my nephew take more photos of things. He said you can always crop things out of them if you do not like them. It has help them all learn the importance of life.

ReplyDeleteScrapbooking has given my family countless hours of joy and even sadness reading and seeing the pictures and reading the stories of who we are, where we came from and how important they all are to me. Our lives are documented and stories are told through photos, layouts and words from my heart to theirs.
ReplyDeleteAn example is when I created a small album for my niece as a high school graduation present. The pages held photos of special people, places and things in her life--her mom, dad and sister an old world map with an arrow pointing toward home. There were pictures of her parents' mailbox and front door. I found quotes that expressed just how much we would miss her with wishes for all the best in the future. Packing to leave home for college, one of the only personal things she took with her was that album.
My family and I really enjoy looking at my albums and I thrive on making them. My famly looks to me to record and tell our family stories so we will never forget.
I love that I can make scrapbooks of our special occasions that my kids can look at and remember as they get older. Right now they are too young to remember much (5 & 3) but they will be able to look at what I have scrapped at know what they have done in their lives. Also I have done several themed scrapbooks. One for my mom for her 60th b-day was the one that meant the most. My mom was blown away, and I felt really good handing her this scrapbook of when I was a kid, all the way up through her now grandkids!
ReplyDeleteI know that my constant talking about it drove my family nuts.Deep down I think they knew how the scraping was a good thing for me to do after i got home from hospital(had major surgery)It has helped me alot...

As a young girl growing up in England, my mom has tons of memories, but few pictures. Those picturs she does have are filled with places and names of people she cannot remember. As a youngster growing up the U.S., we have very few pictures of ourselves as children so it's hard to remember all the places we've lived and the friends we've left behind.
ReplyDeleteI don't want that legacy for my son. I want him to remember his friends, his life, our lives together so I scrap about it.
I love it, it's my creative outlet and my way to remembering.

My love for scrapbooking came from my mom who diligently put together books for each of her 8 children. We had one that had all of our school awards/pictures, etc. over the years and our regular ones that had birthdays and other special occasions. As children, we would often go through each other's books laughing and reflecting over all the memories they contain.
ReplyDeleteNow I have two boys of my own. They love their own books. They love it when I retell stories of when they were babies. They love it when I finish a page and call them over to see it. I am happy to pass on the tradition of making and keeping memories alive.
I know my constant chatter about scrapping drives my family nuts,But they also know it's a therpy thing for me.5 years ago i had a brain tumor(non cancer)I started to scrap b/c it was winter,i didn't go out.I started to scrap to help in recovery, to keep busy and now today i still scrap and still talk about it.

Scrapbooking hs brought my family closer. My younger brother lives in Florida and I in New York. I have a 14 and 11 year olds and my brother has a 2 year old. My sister-in-law doesn't have much time for scrapbooking, so every year I make a scrapbook so my niece can feel closer to her family in NY. It also has brought my daughter, and mother and myself together to scrap our family memories together.

ReplyDeleteScrapbooking has helped me form a close relationship with my family. My mil and I encourage and help each other and we have a very special relationship she was all I had for a mom for a while. I took her to a small convention and now she is a pro. It has also given my husband and I something to do together. Yes, my Husband helps me out a lot. Before my dd was born I just scraped our trips. His job was to pick the pictures and I scraped them then he would help me journal and remember what we did. It has been a real team effort lol finally Some of my closest friends I have because of scrapping. I owe a lot to scrapbooking!
ReplyDeleteI am adding this to my sb.com blog at http://www.scrapbook.com/myplace/index.php?mod=blogs
I dont have a blogger id or anything so you can contact me through my blog if I am lucky enough to be chosen
Thanks

My scrapbooking has brought hours of joy to my family. Everytime I take out a scrapbook, we return to memories that we may have forgotten and experience feelings of happiness and joy.
ReplyDeleteMy Scrapbooking has allowed my youngest children to know who their grandmother ( my mom) was and also there big brother Alex who passed away a well was..

My scrapbooking has shown my kids that I love then and want to document their memories for them so now they bring me stuff and say, here mom, for the scrapbook. I get the weirdest stuff sometimes, like a mouthguard from when my son played football. yikes. a bit thick for a scrapbook.
